So you’ve finally arrived in paradise… and it’s raining! This isn’t just annoying, it’s downright depressing.
Seychelles weather, like any tropical climate, can at times be unpredictable. Although typically, rainfall tends to be more frequent and intense during certain periods (November/December to March), there are showers and occasional storms throughout the year.
Even though this is quite annoying for holiday-makers, it is necessary in order for the tropical environment to flourish.
That being said, there are still plenty of things to do when it rains in Seychelles.
Here are some ideas…
The weather outside is miserable, so why not cheer yourself up with a little pampering. Go and have a massage, a facial, or both. It’s not something many people have the chance to do often, so a rainy day is the perfect opportunity.
Why not check out what kind of activities your hotel has going on for the day. There may be certain classes you can join. For example cooking classes, yoga or Pilates.
Head outside and find a nice little bar or café where you can chill with a cold drink or a warm cup of coffee (whatever your preference). Take a book along with you or just enjoy the view and watching the goings on around you. This is probably one of the most relaxing things to do when it rains.
Rainy days are great for doing some ‘indoor’ sightseeing. When doing this on a beautiful sunny day, you might feel that you’re missing out on some beach time, but if it’s raining, you don’t have to worry about that.
Eden Island is a reclaimed island located a short distance away from the capital of Victoria. Along with luxury accommodation and the Eden Bleu Hotel, Eden Island is also home to the Eden Plaza. Here, you’ll find a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars. It’s a great place to relax, grab a bite to eat and do some shopping.
Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean the ocean is off limits (unless of course it’s pouring down and the sea is rough). That just won’t be fun and in that case, it’s probably best to choose one of the other options suggested above. But honestly, there’s nothing wrong with a swim in the ocean during a little rain shower.
So, despite the rain, there are still plenty of fun and relaxing things to do when it rains in the Seychelles. Try some of these out for yourself on a rainy day.

I love your suggestions and your positivity in making the most of your vacation despite a bit of rain. Thanks for sharing!
There’s always something to do even if it’s raining! 😊
Some great suggestions here! I think you’ve got to expect rain occasionally with a tropical climate but it doesn’t make it any less beautiful!
That’s very true!
